Welcome to 4th Grade!!

Welcome to 4th grade! We had a wonderful first three days of school.  The students are getting into the routine of school and having two teachers for their classes.  We have enjoyed hearing their "First Day Jitters" as we read the book First Day Jitters by Julie Danneberg.  Their final copy of their Emoji story is due on Monday.

Character Formation: Creation Story
Word of the Week: Integrity - God's power for you to be true to Him and yourself.
This week we will discuss how God made His creation and how we can be respectful and have integrity as we care for His creation.

Please work with your child on memorizing the theme verse and the Character Formation definition for Integrity.
Memory Work - our theme this year is "He Makes Me Brave" from Isaiah 41:10.
Isaiah 41:10 - So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Integrity - God's power for you to be true to Him and yourself.

Art: Students are creating a "Who am I?" mystery poster.  Students will come up with three clues to describe themselves to their classmates.  These are due on Friday, August 24th.

Reading: Students are working on building their reading stamina.  They should bring one book from home to read during the school day.  We will be doing benchmark testing to see how they are reading.  After the testing we will better know what areas to support them in reading comprehension and fluency.

Social Studies: Students are learning about the four social scientists.  They are connecting job traits about these scientists to Bible stories.  Next week they will be finding artifacts from home to connect to these four social scientists.

Our first field trip is coming up on Wednesday, October 10th.  Parents are needed to form small groups of students to explore and learn about the pioneer days of Missouri's history.  Please email Mrs. Endorf if you are able to join us for the day.
